TransScale Joins European Researchers’ Night 2025

On September 26, 2025, the TransScale team participated in European Researchers’ Night at the University of Latvia, inviting visitors to explore how we can co-create greener and more inclusive cities.
Held at the Faculty of Social Sciences, the TransScale exhibit showcased the international research project titled:
“TransScale – Scaling up and out sharing capacity for sustainable urban transformation”
The project explores how to reduce waste, promote reuse, and support circular economy models in Latvian and European cities.

What did visitors experience?
Interactive survey: Participants scanned a QR code and answered a short questionnaire about bike lanes, green areas, and urban space improvements.
Engaging visuals: Posters explained how public opinion, behavior, and environmental data can shape sustainable city planning.
Real-world relevance: Attendees learned how their feedback contributes to initiatives like “Nomales” – a reuse center for construction materials in Riga.

Why does it matter?
As cities grow, resource consumption and waste generation increase, creating not only environmental but also social challenges. TransScale responds to these issues by combining citizen experiences, behavioral insights, and policy engagement to co-design practical, community-friendly solutions for the circular economy.

Stay tuned for further updates and insights from the TransScale project as it continues to explore and promote sustainable urban transformations.
